Patient Care Team

Our providers couldn’t treat patients without having a patient care team of dedicated administrative and clinical support staff.

Our administrative staff is an important part of our patient care team and is here to schedule appointments, check patients in and out, as well as provide assistance about appointments, forms, insurance and billing.

Our Medical Assistants work hand in hand with our providers to help patients of all ages and stages in life understand their medications and conditions. They have been trained to provide customized care depending on the patient’s needs, focusing on assessment, prioritization and referral to the appropriate level of care. They can provide education on lifestyle changes and preventive care that includes age-specific testing, self-breast exams, skin care and vaccines. Our Medical Assistants can also provide a list of area Primary Care Physicians if a patient doesn’t have one. This helps patients to actively take charge of their own health care.

Our surgery scheduler and referral coordinator assists patients by reviewing insurance benefits and scheduling procedures, surgery or IUD insertions as ordered by the provider. She works very closely with the Rex schedulers and provides detail about what might be expected pre- and post-procedure. She also schedules appointments for patients referred by their Atrium provider to another specialist.

Advanced Care Team

Atrium ObGyn offers our patients an Advanced Patient Care Team with advanced experience and training.

Our OB Educators specialize in obtaining and documenting early-pregnancy medical histories of the patient and father of the baby as well as answering any questions pertaining to early pregnancy. They provide early pregnancy education on a variety of matters including medications safe to take in pregnancy, when to call the doctor and what activities are safe and unsafe during pregnancy. They also discuss vaccinations, nutrition, weight gain, exercise, tobacco and alcohol use and traveling while pregnant.

For our obstetrical patients undergoing glucose tolerance testing, our OB Educator and triage staff are trained to provide initial instruction on dietary recommendations and diabetic glucose monitoring. We may refer patients to specialists, however, we order the diabetic teaching supplies and will educate patients on how to check blood sugar prior to the specialist appointment. We will also educate patients on how to watch nutritional intake and monitor the amount of carbohydrates consumed.

Our OB Educators are Kelly and Suzette and can be reached at 919-232-6898.

Our Triage staff can assist you with any medical questions you may have in addition to prescription refill requests, questions about medications, labs and other test results. Our Triage staff is comprised of Cecilia and Allison and are available by phone at 919-232-6885 or 919-232-6886, as well as by secure patient portal through our website.

Our ultrasound staff is registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and performs GYN and OB ultrasounds, nuchal translucency, sonohystograms and 3D obstetrical ultrasounds. They work closely and communicate frequently with the providers to ensure proper images and reporting are available.

We take pride in our patient-driven team of employees. Our providers and staff are dedicated to the principle of serving our patients’ needs by offering excellent and personalized care. We trust you’ll find our office to be friendly and helpful. We like what we do and we hope that we can be of good service to our patients.
